First day of Summer 2012!

Spending the day at the pool with my boys and their friends is both fun and exhausting at the same time of course. Today I had the opportunity to think about all that my summer will entail and frankly I'm exhausted!  Moving across the country and setting up a new household is part of a Military families' role and its what "we signed up for". So in writing this....I say happy summer... bring it ON! Everything! A move across these beautiful states from CA to NY...with three boys and a puppy! I tell myself I can do this. Yes there are moving boxes all over my house and yes they need to be filled, many many need to be filled. So as Thatcher's eyes with the "deer in a head light" look, I too look at my summer goals and think WTF!? How am I going to accomplish all this? God help me while I drive those long hours...life is still GOOD. 

Schools Out...

As I sit in a quiet room (aaaawww) I think about the past year. The late mornings rushing to pack Cars and Scooby Doo Lunch boxes, chasing the boys around the breakfast table in hopes of catching one to "fiber" their spiked hair. Telling, sometimes yelling at the boys to "put on your shoes" or "eat boys eat" are now memories, at least here in San Diego.  I am no longer a mommy to a Kindergartener, LB is now a First Grader! I believe these photos were taken within the first month or so of the school year, and I can't believe how much all my boys have changed.  I used to read LB his favorite book, "No David" by David Shannon, then he began to read it himself and even read it aloud to his classroom for an oral presentation. Kai as independent as always started Pre-school on Halloween, so cool when you show up to a new classroom as Spiderman! He ended the year as a visitor in LB's Kindergarten class and even got to do PE with the class! Thatch, was always my sidekick during the school year, such an adorable spectacle with staff and teachers.  While on the way home of this last day of school I announced to the boys..."LB you are now a First Grader, Kai you are now in UPK Preschool and Thatcher you are still the Baby!" Then a sharp realization hit me like a  sharp Number 2 pencil in the behind...its summer, this means I will have all 3 boys home all day....welcome to summer everyone. 

LEGOLAND "Play well"

LEGOLAND ~ CARSLBAD, CALIFORNIA: You would think that after spending 8 YES I said 8 hours at LEGOLAND that the ride home would be a quiet one. NO WAY, the 4 boys riding in the van were almost more pumped full of energy than on our way towards the coolest place on EARTH aka "LEGOLAND"! Imagine riding in a vehicle that moves like a rollercoaster that looks like its build from LEGOS. Zooming around in race cars, riding horses and floating in pirate ships....you guessed it, all LEGOS!~ The most amazing creativity of the day was found in the TEST and BUILD area of the park. SUPER cool, you get to build your own LEGO vehicle and race it down a track. Awesome! The most intense part of the day involved racing in a LEGO firetruck, the goal was the drive the truck towards the fire and of course put the fire out. I must say being a mommy to all boys makes the day one that is PLAYED WELL. The only thing that would have made the day more amazing would have been for Kai to have seen Kai from Ninjago, maybe next time.
